Services

Internet

The Library has six internet stations that can be used for general Internet use. All Internet users must present a library card and sign in prior to using an internet terminal. Time may be restricted to 30 minutes, if other people are waiting. A wireless network is also available for library users who would like to bring their own laptops to the library. The network is compatible with most laptops. Owners are responsible for providing their own anti-virus and security systems for their computers.

Word Processing

Two computer stations are equipped with word processing software; such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher; in addition to the Internet. Patrons using these computers for word processing must follow the same regulations as the general internet stations, except time may be restricted after 1 hour of use when other people are waiting. Patrons needing word processing will be given preference over general internet users for these computers.

Copier

A digital copier is available to the public to copy letter and legal size pages. Cost is 10 cents per page.

Databases

The library subscribes to two databases that can be accessed in the library or from home by Carlstadt residents.

Patron Books In Print provides information on books currently available for purchase as well as information on Forthcoming titles.

This database also includes FictionConnection, a reader’s advisory database for both adults and children. For remote access, please see the Reference Librarian or a Circulation Assistant to get the username and password.

or on JerseyClicks databases provided by the State of New Jersey.
