Library Cards

Library cards are provided to the residents of Carlstadt free of charge for the first card. Acceptable proof of residency is one of the following:

• Valid drivers license with Carlstadt address
• Property tax bill or deed with ID (names must match)
• Lease with ID (names must match)
• Current utility bill, with a Carlstadt address, such as PSEG, telephone (not cell phone), water or cable television with ID (names must match)

When you apply for the right to use the library, you promise to abide by all its rules and policies, to take good care of all materials, to pay all fines or damages, and to give prompt notice of any change to your phone number or address.

If the original card is lost or stolen, there is a charge of $3.00 to replace the card.

Borrowing

• New Fiction ~ 14 days
• New Non Fiction ~ 28 days
• All Other Books ~ 28 days
• Audio Books ~ 14 days
• Periodicals ~ 14 days
• Videos ~ 7 days
• DVDs ~ 7 days
• CDs ~ 14 days

Overdue charges

The fines for most materials are 10 cents per day. Video and DVD fines are $1.00 per day. No fines are charged for days the library is closed.
